Two Productive Days

The last two days have been very productive.  Finally, everything is coming together!  On Tuesday, the boys watched the project dvd given to us in the kit.  It gave the boys a better idea on what to expect the day of the competition with their presentation. They mapped out their problem, solution, presentation idea, the experts they've talked with thus far and discussed their outreach.  On Wednesday, we asked Mr. Terry Phillips, a Software Engineering Technical Lead, to join our practice.  The boys were stuck on their robot design and challenge board.  Thank you to Mr. Phillips for coming in as an expert and answering the many questions they had.

Throughout this process, I've found the key to success as a coach is direct the kids to the experts in the field when they have questions.  We have approximately 16 practices left before the competition.   I cannot believe the growth that is occurring.  This type of learning can be painful at times, but in the end they will be so proud of their efforts when they go to the competition.
